Dear all,

I'm selling my custom-made hi-fi cabinet as I'm moving to a bigger apartment and having a new one made.

This cabinet was designed to have 100% Wife Acceptance Factor - when you're not listening, everything will be concealed. When you want to listen, just open the doors and slide them back into the cabinet.

To prevent heat build-up, the cabinet has no back - hot air will naturally rise and escape. I built this for my former Audio Research setup. The Reference 110 power amp was sited in the bottom compartment, the  LS 27 preamp was in the middle compartment, the DAC in another. Even during extended listening sessions, heat from the power tubes dissipated easily. (The cabinet should be sited slightly away from the wall behind, around two inches gap).

The open back allows your cables to be easily dressed and arranged. Running stiff power cables, interconnects and speaker cables is simple and quick.

It can accommodate 2 full-size power amps (max 25cm x 55cm x 60cm HWD), and 4 preamp/cd player/dac etc (max 17cm x 55cm x 60cm). The top is black glass, your turntable will look great sitting on it!

The cabinet is constructed from 30mm plywood with all genuine zebrano wood veneer finish (not laminate). It is solid and heavy so as to be free of vibration and unwanted resonances.

The doors are black laminated plywood, mounted on "pocket hinges", that allow the doors to slide back into the cabinet during listening sessions.

The cabinet cost me $1950 - I'm letting go at $950.

Thanks for reading - let me know if you need more info or want to view. The actual unit is in the East Coast near Bayshore

Cheers,
Mick
