Often, that means a team has shuffled multiple players in and out of the lineup, which makes the Bills¡¯ struggles unique. Rather than dealing with injuries or multiple benchings, they actually stuck with the same below-average starter Authentic Thomas Sweeney Jersey , Jordan Mills, for the last three years. Now that the team has cut ties with Mills, they have a chance to break in a new starter on the right side of the offensive line. The team spent plenty of capital, both in free-agent dollars and draft choices, to upgrade the offensive line, and plenty of competition exists for playing time and roster spots. In today¡¯s installment of our ¡°90 players in 90 days¡± series, we profile one of Buffalo¡¯s free-agent acquisitions, a veteran swing tackle who has performed well with limited exposure over his career.
Name: Ty NsekheNumber: 77Position: THeight/Weight: 6¡¯8¡± 330 lbs. Age: 33 (34 on 10/27/19)Experience/Draft: 5; undrafted in 2009, and first entered NFL with the Indianapolis Colts in 2012 (played in Arena Football League for three years prior)College: Texas StateAcquired: Signed with Bills as unrestricted free agent on 3/13/19
Financial situation (per Spotrac): Nsekhe comes to Buffalo on a two-year contract worth a total of $10 million. The contract contains $6.2 million in guarantees. In 2019, Nsekhe will count $4.8 million against the cap.2018 Recap: Nsekhe was Washington¡¯s sixth offensive lineman last year, serving as the first man off the bench regardless of whether he was to fill in at tackle or guard. He played in 403 offensive snaps Thomas Sweeney Jersey Boys , 39.51% of the team¡¯s total, and he appeared in 14 games. He made five starts¡ªthree at left tackle, and two at left guard¡ªwhile also entering off the bench and playing the majority of the snaps at tackle in Washington¡¯s Week 3 victory over the Green Bay Packers. Nsekhe committed five penalties on the season for a total of 35 yards, and he did not allow a sack.Positional outlook: Buffalo¡¯s offensive line group is full of new faces, so Nsekhe isn¡¯t alone. The team lists him as a tackle, so his primary competition for playing time and a roster spot includes Dion Dawkins, Cody Ford, Conor McDermott, LaAdrian Waddle, Garrett McGhin, Jeremiah Sirles Infant Thomas Sweeney Jersey , and De¡¯Ondre Wesley. If you expand his position to include the guards, since Nsekhe has experience there, then Spencer Long, Quinton Spain, Wyatt Teller, Jon Feliciano, Ike Boettger, and Vladimir Ducasse become competitors, as well.2019 Offseason: Nsekhe has participated to some degree in all offseason activities to date. He missed some time due to an undisclosed injury, but the team did not seem concerned overall. During the first week of OTAs, he was the first-team right tackle.2019 Season outlook: Nsekhe is going to be either one of two things for the Bills. He¡¯ll either fit as one of the team¡¯s five starting offensive linemen Thomas Sweeney Jersey Draft , plugging in at tackle or guard, or he¡¯ll be one of the team¡¯s top game-day reserves along the line. He was used most often (and most effectively) at left tackle while in Washington, but Buffalo appeared to give the edge to incumbent left tackle Dion Dawkins in the early portion of camp. With second-round draft choice Cody Ford in the fold, it¡¯s hard to see Nsekhe unseating either player. His contract is that of a starter, but that can be said for quite a few of Buffalo¡¯s offensive lineman. With only five starting spots to give, it just means that the team will have something it hasn¡¯t had in a long time¡ªhigh-quality reserves. Expect Nsekhe to push for a starting job all throughout the summertime.
