Hi guys,
Decided to let my solid state setup go.
Bryston BP26 & MPS-2(External LPS) Manufacturer's website : http://bryston.com/products/pre_amps/BP26.html Review : http://www.soundstagehifi.com/index.php?option=com_content&v
iew=article&id=112:bryston-bp26-da-preamplifier-and-mps2-power-supply&ca
tid=55:full-length-reviews The Bryston BP26 preamplifier offers a significant step forward in capturing the subtleties, nuances, and emotions of recorded music. All aspects of the signal flow are enhanced with lower noise and distortion figures, and higher load levels, offering a rich and vibrant audio experience.
Input: 2x XLR balanced pairs, 5x RCA single ended pairs (4x with DAC, MM or MC phono), 2x SPDIF**, RCA single ended phono***, RCA single ended (tape loop) Output: XLR Balanced, 2x RCA single ended pairs
The preamp together with its external power supply(MPS-2) was purchased locally from AFA electronics PTE LTD on the 17/04/14 for $6460(Receipt will be provided).
Byrston 4BSST Review : http://www.soundstage.com/revequip/bryston_4bsst.htm It has both balanced and unbalanced inputs. The 4BSST is very conservatively rated at:
300 watts per channel into 8 Ohms 500 watts per channel into 4 Ohms 900 watts into 8 Ohms in the bridged mode
It features separate stereo channels, including dual power supplies, to prevent any interaction between left and right signals, for precise sound staging and image quality. Both channels are clean and clear with the detailed, holographic, fatigue-free sound Bryston is known for. Also, Bryston uses only high quality components including 1% metal-film resistors, polystyrene capacitors and hand-matched transistors to reduce noise and distortion to the absolute minimum. All signal circuitry is fully discrete to avoid the compromises, phase shift and nonlinearities inherent in IC's. If you have never owned a Bryston amplifier you owe it to yourself to find out first-hand about the great build quality and the even better sound quality. If you are used to driving your speakers with a receiver this amp could well have you happily listening to your music collection all over again.
