From the Singapore distributor of OPPO digital products and award winning OPPO UDP-203 universal player, now comes the SG Signature Mod Edition! The OPPO UDP-203 SG mod edition is a hardware modified OPPO UDP-203 unit with improved performance!
After our modifications, the improvements across all media inputs to the UDP-203 (Disc playback or streaming for Video and Audio) are as below:
Digital HDMI Video Output : Naturally better contrast and increased brightness. Lower video noise. Colours are presented to be truer to actual tones and action sequences will be smoother and easier on the eye.
Digital HDMI and Coaxial/Optical Audio Output : A much better digital audio transport. Lower noise floor and jitter, resulting in more details from audio, clearer dialog and a much more enjoyable, analog sound.
Front Channel analog audio output (Stereo Front Left and Front Right Output) : Vastly improved performance. Bass, PRaT, sound staging, inner harmonic details, naturalness of human voice and instruments and all matrix of hifi measurements are improved by leaps and bound. It will truly make the 203 to be the best audio all in one player (disc playback and streaming) in its price range.

Indeed, our actual experience includes the design of flagship SACD and DVD players! This invaluable insight and experience provides us with insider knowledge on how to effectively apply modifications technique that will last a long time. Contrary to popular belief modifications is not a matter of just changing better parts and expecting an improvement. There are levels of intricacies to maximise what you do that comes with experience and this is exactly where our value lies.
Modification Packages
We organize our modifications into different levels for your explicit usage model.
Above show part of modded UDP-203, with Furutech INLET (R) IEC, wired directly with high purity copper wire and custom made Fuse holder with Swiss made fuse (you can change the fuse!). Also shown are capacitors on the power supply and analog board changed to Rubycon ZL low impedance types.
Elementa Digital Mod Services. SGD$450. Does not Include OPPO UDP-203 Player
Chose this if you only use the OPPO 203 for HDMI and digital audio / video transport purposes only. The Analog audio 7.1 output is not connected at all.
1. The IEC inlet is changed to genuine Furutech INLET (R) and very pure copper wiring is used to connect the IEC Inlet, directly soldered onto the board without the use of connectors which degrades performance.
2. The top cover is damped with our custom bitumen sheet that also help to absorb RFI and EMI which provides a lower noise floor as well.
3. The stock switch mode power supply is vastly improved. The stock diode bridge is replaced with a hand-built FRED low noise diodes. The original soldered on fuse is changed to a custom made fuse holder with a Swiss made gold plated ceramic body damped industrial grade fuse. Stock capacitors are replaced with Rubycon ZL and Panasonic FC at all locations. The main capacitor is also increased by a factor of 2.5 to reduce ripple noise. Special transient noise damper circuits are directly soldered at noise sources. The result is a much lower noise power supply that gives much better overall performance for the whole player.
4. The motherboard is also modded as well to reduce its overall noise levels. We will keep the details here as our trade secret.
Elementa Full Mod Services. SGD$700. Does not include OPPO UDP-203 Player
Chose this if in addition to above, you use the Front Left (FL) and Right (FR) Analog Audio output as well.
1. All aspects of Elementa digital Mods.
2. The analog audio 7.1 output boards gets overhaul that include: Upgrades to critical capacitors to Nichicon KZ audio grade, Rubycon ZLG and Rubycon ZL capacitors. The FL and FR opamps are changed to higher spec grade. They are also shielded and damped with special heatsink for even lower noise performance. The AKM DAC chip is also similarly shielded and damped. The regulator circuit is also modified with improved ripple rejection for lower noise floor. Other mods done to optimise the performance are our trade secrets.
