When your speaker cables are of high quality, there is no reason to save on the connectors. Same logic as the cables and interconnects we use/sell, connectors have a great part to play in ensuring the signal passing through devices are of same integrity as the quality of the cables.
This is why our cables may seem more expensive than others, when in actual fact we are using higher grade of components in the connectors that we do not let the quality of the cables to go to waste they are only as great as the weakest link, which some cables are being sold cheaper due to using OEM or basic Made-in-China plugs.

The special gap/groove above the screw holes also allow soldering of speaker conductor to be done on the plug body for an even secured fitting.
But even with screws as a type of cold-joint if no good quality of solder is used, one can be assured the fitting will be very tight from the 2 screws being held on. Even the screws are of great quality of toughness and strength, which only premium brands like Furutech can offer. Packed, separately, they do not sit inside the plug until you use them in order to ensure the threads remain in great shape.
