<br>The miracle cream which claims to destroy cellulite in nine minutes - and guess what, it might actua<br><br> Enlarge  New cellulite cream claims to banish orange peel effect in just nine minutes <br><br> An anti-cellulite cream which claims to give women a 'nine minute bottom lift' will go on sale in Britain this week. <br><br> The company behind the Adonia LegTone serum say their lotion uses the 'regenerative properties of plant stem cells' to breathe life back into weakened skin stem cells. <br><br> British scientists warned that the product - which costs 68 a bottle - was likely to be a waste of money. <br><br> One leading skin expert described the company's scientific claims about stem cells as 'gibberish', while another said if the product really worked as claimed, its creators deserved a Nobel Prize. <br><br> A test carried out by our Femail team on one reader with cellulite seemed to show a difference in skin texture after the cream was applied. (See below) <br><br> The makers of Adonia LegTone - Green Island Labs - say their product sold out within seven days of launching in American - and says it has 100,000 advance orders in Britain. <br><br> Chief executive Dr Mark Binette said: 'Most cellulite creams are not clinically proven and have little or no benefit, leaving most women frustrated to say the least. <br><br> 'Most companies simply are not targeting the cause - but the secret has finally been discovered and captured in a bottle. <br><br> 'Now we're not saying that a healthy diet and lashings of water, combined with a regular exercise regime, won't help to keep cellulite levels down - but sometimes a girl just needs a little extra help.' <br><br> Enlarge  Nine minute miracle: Creator Dr Binette claims women saw a 47 per cent reduction in cellulite after just nine minutes, and around 70 per cent in six weeks <br><br> The company says its claims are backed up by 'independent clinical trials'. In tests on women, the cream reduced the appearance of cellulite by 47 per cent in nine minutes, and around 70 per cent over six weeks. <br><br> The tests were carried out by a AMA Laboratories in New York - a private company which carries out trials on behalf of cosmetic companies. <br><br> However, the results of the trials have not been published, and the company has declined to say how they were carried out. <br><br> Although new anti-cellulite creams are common, the claims made by Green Island Labs are so unusual - and the cost so high - they have caused alarm among British scientists. <br><br> Enlarge  Adonia's LegTone serum uses organic oils and plant cells to destroy cellulite <br><br> The company says - the orange peel blotches of fat that appear on the stomachs, hips, thighs and bottoms of 85 per cent of women - occurs when the stem cells in skin become weak and dormant. As they lose their ability to regenerate skin, fat cells become engorged and toxins get trapped creating cellulite. <br><br> Green Island Labs says its product contains plant stem cells, made from natural plant embryos, mixed with 23 plant oils including ginger oil, rosemary oil and lemon peel oil. <br><br> The company claims the plant stem cells 'helps to re-awaken and reactivate dormant or less active skin stem cells back to the levels they were in your 20s'. Nothing has worked - in fact, the older I get and the more tea and alcohol I drink, the worse it becomes. <br><br> I was expecting miracles - mainly because the company promised them: a reduction of 47 per cent in the appearance of cellulite after nine minutes. I was very cynical - how would they even measure that? - but not too cynical to try it. <br><br> The cream massaged in easily and smelled pleasant.
